**SPECIAL NEEDS** We don't know much about Ludwig's history, only that he was found as a stray. If there's one word that describes this sweet creature, it's "resilient". He's endured a lengthy amount of time here with us, but also a back issue that rendered him incapable of walking at one point. Luckily some strong medication and loving stretches from staff did the trick and he was back up on all fours in no time. "Luddy" will give you the biggest smile (showing off some pretty snazzy, snaggly teeth!) and do a little dance back and forth when he sees you approaching his suite. He loves nothing more than receiving human attention. Oftentimes, we catch him gazing at staff in adoration when they're with him. We've noticed that he's developed separation anxiety, but part of that could be attributed to him being here for so long. Ludwig has a sensitive tummy, so he's on a special diet that's pretty bland. He also has hind-end weakness that requires he be expressed several times per day. Once you've done it a couple times, however, it's pretty easy to get the hang of it and it becomes second nature. Despite the hind-end issue, he still likes to get out for walks, although they should be kept slow and short. Ludwig gets along with other dogs some of the time, but due to his craving for human attention, he's started a few tiffs in wanting to be the first to be pet and loved on. For this reason, it would be best that he go to an only dog home. Luddy has been with us for a very long time. As much as we love him, nothing would make us happier than for him to find the forever home he deserves.
