We are ready to launch our new and expanded foster program!
Help Us Save More Pugs – Become a Foster!
At Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles, we’re fortunate to have our own facility where we care for many rescued dogs, but the truth is, there’s never enough space for all the pugs who need us. That’s where our foster program comes in.
Fostering provides dogs with a safe and loving home outside the rescue while they await adoption. It helps them decompress from the stress of kennel life, build confidence, settle into a routine, and most importantly, show off their true personalities to potential adopters. Every pug that can go to a foster home frees up a space at our over-capacity facility, which allows us to say yes to rescuing more dogs in urgent need.
It is statistically proven that dogs in foster care get adopted more quickly – so by fostering, you’re not only helping the dog in your home, but also giving another dog a chance at rescue. Whether it’s a senior pug needing time to heal, a medical case that does better in a quiet setting, or a dog who’s simply more comfortable in a home environment, fosters play a crucial role in preparing our dogs for adoption.
What We Provide:
-
All medical care
-
Food and supplies
-
Support from our team every step of the way
What We Ask of Our Fosters:
-
Be located in the greater Los Angeles area
-
Be available for a home check prior to fostering
-
Have landlord approval (if applicable) and all household members on board
-
Offer a safe, secure, and loving home environment
-
Share updates, photos, and observations to help us match your foster with the right forever home
-
Transport your foster to vet appointments, meet-and-greets, or special events
- Understand that the pugs available for foster are not young, desirable pugs; we need your help with our longer term residents
Fostering can last anywhere from a few days to a few months, depending on the dog’s needs – and we’ll always work with your schedule and preferences to find the right match.
As a foster, you’ll be a vital part of our mission to give every pug the life they deserve.
