Silver

5 year old Female/ Available at the Station

Poor Silver…she has been relinquished to us twice due to anxiety. When she gets nervous, she violently chase her tail. She’s never tried to bite anyone, she just tries to bite her tail. We learned that before coming to us the first time, she had spent the majority of her life locked in a kennel (for about 12 hours a day). It’s no wonder she gets nervous so easily. In hopes of helping control her issue, we started her on CBD Oil and what a huge difference it has made! She runs to us so she can receive love and pets now. She’s even started rolling over on her back and allowing a couple of our staff members to rub her belly. There are times when she still gets a little overwhelmed if there’s too much commotion, but we’re able to stop her before she goes after her tail. Silver is a great little girl; very loyal once she finds a human to attach to. She’s treat motivated, listens well and learns quickly; she’ll follow you everywhere. She loves to play with her toys, play fetch and take walks. She would do best in a home where there are no other pets or children. It would be ideal for her if her human was home often. We hope there’s a patient person out there willing to give Silver the forever home she needs and deserves.

Boogie

8 year old Male/ Available at the Station

Boogie was an owner relinquish; this poor dog was obviously abused and is very afraid of strangers. He is fearful when approached, but once he gets to know you and trust you, he’ll become very playful and submissive. Definitely needs an alpha person who can train him and control him a bit. He would need to go to a home with no children or other dogs. He listens well and obeys. He also loves to take walks, play fetch and loves his stuffed toys!! Boogie has been with us for a very long time. His previous owner said he should just be euthanized, which we’d never do. We love him so much and want nothing more than for him to finally find his forever family.

Alfie

12 year old Male/ Available at the Station

Alfie was relinquished to us through his vet because his family could not afford his care. Although quiet and reserved at first, he has come completely out of his shell, letting his personality shine. He is super friendly and curious about his surroundings. He also really loves to be around other dogs. Alfie has that special Pug face that almost looks human. And, he has the best and slightest underbite to go with it. Alfie does have some arthritis in his joints, but it definitely doesn’t slow him down or deter him from taking a nice walk or play with toys. We feel he’d do great in a home that has an existing dog already.

Cooper

3 year old Male/ Available at the Station

Cooper was relinquished to us by his owner because they could no longer care for him. When he first came to us, he was extremely timid and head shy. We think he may have experienced some kind of abuse as he would coward away when we tried to pet him. In the short time he’s been here, he has started to warm up to staff. He has a happy tail when he sees us, runs up to us when we enter his pen and even rolls onto his back for belly rubs when he’s feeling especially brave! Cooper gets along well with other dogs, but seems to enjoy playing with his stuffed babies more than anything. Cooper would do well in a patient home who would give him time to continue to come out of his shell and be comfortable at his own pace. We just know he would be worth the extra effort.

Gumball

7 year old Male/ Available at the Station

Gumball was roaming the streets of LA all by his lonesome when a concerned citizen found him. Luckily they knew about us and immediately brought him our way. Although he’s packaged in a tiny body, Gumball is full of energy! He is a great little walker and loves to play with other dogs. Gumball isn’t all play all the time, however. He does enjoy a good nap in the afternoon. He also adores attention from humans and if there’s an empty lap around, he won’t hesitate to make himself comfortable on it! We feel Gumball would do well in a somewhat active home, or one with a good sized yard for him to play in. Either way, we know he will be the apple of his forever family’s’ eye!

Nippy & Porky

Nippy 13 year old female/ Porky 13 year old female/ Available at the Station

Porky was relinquished to the West LA shelter by her owner, along with her best friend, Nippy. Their owner could no longer care for them. At first, Porky seemed to be the quieter of the two. As a little time has passed, we’ve found that she’s just as feisty as her best friend. Don’t let her age fool you, she’s got lots of spunk! When it’s meal time, she is especially talkative, oftentimes letting our staff know that they’re taking way too long to prepare her food! Porky is friendly with other dogs and will make it known that she wants attention when a human is around. Nippy is a sweet old lady who loves to talk when there’s a lot of commotion happening around her. She has a bit of hind-end weakness, but that doesn’t slow her down from making her way around the pen to socialize with the other dogs. Nippy has lots of personality for her age, too. She loves human attention and cuddles. Nippy is bonded with Porky, so they would need to go to a home together.

Noli

4 year old Female/Available at the Station

Noli was relinquished to us by her owner because she no longer got along with the other dogs in the home. She is currently separated from the bunch so we can monitor her for anything that could possibly be contagious to the others. Once she is cleared, we’ll let her out to a large space to stretch out in. We will try her with another dog to see how she does.

Vincent

10 year old Male/Available at the Station

Poor Vincent. He was relinquished by his family because they could no longer care for him. He is a quiet, mellow boy who loves belly rubs. Currently, he is separated so we can monitor for anything that may be contagious to the others. Once he’s been seen by our vet and given the green light, we’ll let him meet the rest of the bunch to see how he gets along.

Oliver

10 year old Male/ Available at the Station

Oliver was stuck in the South LA Shelter before we were lucky enough to pull him. Poor guy has hind-end weakness that makes it difficult for him to walk. However, that doesn’t stop him from being a happy, friendly boy. Because he came from a shelter, we have him separated to monitor for any signs of kennel cough. Once our vet examines him and gives the ok, we’ll introduce him to the rest of the gang to see how he gets along.

Potter

8 year old Male/ Available at the Station

Little Potter was a stray before being taken to the South LA Shelter. He is a sweet, gentle boy who loves attention. Because he came from a shelter, we have him separated to monitor for kennel cough. Once we get the ok from our vet, we’ll let him mingle with the rest of the group to see how he gets along.
