3 Year old Male / Available at the Rescue

Boca is 3 years old, weighs 20 pounds, and was originally found as a stray, so we don’t know much about his life before coming to Pug Nation. He arrived with a slight limp in his back legs, and our vet determined that he had likely suffered an injury while he was out on his own. Thankfully, the injury has healed, he is not in pain, and he gets around just fine. Boca simply moves a little differently, but he is still completely perfect in our eyes. Hopefully in yours too!

Boca is a mellow, incredibly sweet boy who really loves his people. However, he is not necessarily interested in becoming best friends with every living creature within the first thirty seconds of meeting them. He likes to observe, take his time, and decide whether someone belongs in the inner circle. But once you are in, you are very much in.

Boca forms strong bonds with the people he trusts and is happiest relaxing near them, soaking up attention, and enjoying the security of knowing exactly where he belongs. He has obviously been through a lot, so a patient family willing to let the relationship unfold naturally will see the very loving dog underneath his initial caution.

He can live with other dogs, but he tends to prefer mellow companions who respect his space and are not determined to turn every interaction into a wrestling match. If you already have a dog at home, a trial adoption would be a great way to make sure everyone’s personalities work well together before making things official.
